Hi, I’m Tamara,
I have had a passion for food and wine for most of my life. My wine journey started over 20 years ago when I volunteered to do a wine tasting at a local grocery store. Even though I was not an expert in wine tasting, I had a great time and sold a lot of wine. The more wine tastings I attended, the more I learned about wine.
I majored in hospitality at college, which gave me the opportunity to work at a fantastic resort on Disney property. It was an honor to collaborate with some expert chefs.
I would like to invite you to join me in my new business, Wines for Humanity, which I am very passionate about. At Wines for Humanity, we believe no family in America should become homeless due to circumstances beyond their control. Great wine is just the beginning of our mission. My love for award-winning pours is matched only by my commitment to helping the families who benefit from our wine tastings.
Meet Our Founder
Even as a young man, Founder Anton Steinhart was driven by a desire to serve others. Like a beacon of positivity, his passion for giving back led him to dream of becoming a missionary in Africa. While life had other plans and that path didn’t come to full fruition, the seed for service had been planted.
Ever inspired by opportunity, Anton instead leapt at the chance to take a mission trip to Bolivia. Despite not having the medical qualifications the sponsoring organization needed, he dared to reach out to Solidarity Bridge and offer his help. As it turned out, they found a place for Anton and he soon found himself helping some of the poorest women of Bolivia learn to use sewing machines and ship their products to sell in the United States.

Yet upon his return to America, Anton longed to do more. His life experiences and memories were fermenting in his mind: images of homelessness on the streets of New York City, stories of young families living out of their cars who needed just one month’s rent to get back on their feet, the deaths of people close to him. Anton felt a stirring to make a greater impact, one that leveraged his expertise in the wine industry and his love of people––specifically those without homes and hope.
Anton knew it was time to once again leap. He threw himself into his work, studying why people find themselves homeless. Loss of income, natural disaster, injury, illness––their stories tugged at Anton’s heart and affirmed his belief in his mission to make change. An ounce of prevention is indeed worth a pound of cure, and all his research pointed to helping families before they become homeless. In fact, studies show that taking action while a family still has their home costs two-to-three times less.
And so the idea was born to offer private Wine Tastings to Hosts and their guests, with a portion of the wine sales supporting the greater good. Anton knew that wine brings people together and that serving others would only add to their enjoyment of the experience.
Anton was spot on. Since that first Wine Tasting in 2007, Wines for Humanity has given back more than $9 million to family focused charities across the country. And together with our growing family of Wine Advisors, this important work continues to fulfill our mission to Change the World, One Glass at a Time.
